How many meetings have you been to where there was a scrabbling for the lights at the beginning and end of a slideshow? One new addition to the meeting room technology industry is interactive room-control systems. A room control system will allow you to control most of the Video Conferencing in the meeting room from a single centralized area.
A room control system ends all that moving around to switch on the lights, complaints that the thermostat must be turned down, and questions about who is closest to the projector (and who knows where the button is to turn it on).
Another more fundamental addition to Video Conferencingtechnology in meeting rooms is a devoted computer. This is especially necessary for those that tend to spend a lot of time leading meetings. Instead of having to unplug and haul a computer into the conference room (or, worse, calling the tech unit to set one up in there for you), all you have to do is bring a CD of your presentation, or use the presentation via the web. This makes setting up for meetings fast and effortless, and also helps with Video Conferencing, as everything is already in its place.
With the cost of travel ever-increasing, video conferencing is becoming more and more key, especially in larger companies with nationwide (or world-wide) branches. While the conventional teleconference still has its place in a meeting, and probably always will, the opportunity to see and speak person-to-person to your coworkers or clients can be priceless.
Another standard in Video Conferencing for boardrooms is a digital projector. For those that have to use PowerPoint presentations as a meeting tool, a projector is a total necessity. A digital projector will show any computer application on a white board or panel (or even a light-colored wall), helping you to disclose information, presentations, even digital films or satellite tv. While in the past, digital projectors used to be prohibitively expensive, especially for smaller businesses, their price of Video Conferencing is falling as technology advances, making them an easily obtainable addition to the meeting audio visual system of any business.
In the end, knowing what kind of meeting room technology you need for your company is just a matter of surveying your needs. Do you typically hold important meetings with associates across the country? Do you find that most of the notes taken at meetings are unfinished or incoherent, or you don’t have anyone to take them? Then some of the products discussed here may be for you. It’s just as easy to have too much Video Conferencing technology in the conference room as it is to have too little, so try not to spend more than you need. The technology you pick should make meetings run more smoothly, not slow them down while employees spend all their time figuring out how to use these new technologies.

PowerPoint has become such a common business standard that a second-rate PowerPoint presentation is immediately marked as such. particularly if you’re making a sales presentation, a poor presentation may even injure your business.
PowerPoint presentations can be drawn on for several purposes. In education and in informative meetings, they use illustrations and easy-to-read text to help attendees to comprehend the information being given.
There are several tricks you can follow to create PowerPoint presentations more quickly and efficiently. One is to accelerate the choosing of fonts by previewing fonts in the font toolbar. To do this, merely go to Tools/Customize, click the Options tab, then click “List font names in their font.” Another way to speed up creating presentation slides is to set a default text style for your slides. This both helps to make your PowerPoint presentations to appear more professional, and it speeds up their making. To set a new default, go to Format, then Font. Decide the changes you need, then click OK.
One way to create higher quality PowerPoint presentations is to use higher quality graphics. Clipart taken directly from Microsoft Office screams “this information wasn’t important enough for me to attempt.” In particular, avoid using MS Office “screen beans,” which are so normal as to become laughably cliché.
If you have important points to make, particularly if they’re whole paragraphs, include them in handouts. If you’re giving a vibrant presentation and want to keep your audience’s entire attention, make sure to pass out any handouts at the final, as they can be distracting.
If you want to put together truly striking PowerPoint presentations but don’t have either the time or the ability to do it yourself, PowerPoint templates can be a good option. There are many free PowerPoint templates available for download on the internet, but if you want really good quality and professional looking templates, you might want to think about paid templates.
Don’t use too many bullet points and particularly don’t use paragraphs to get your meaning across. You should be doing that yourself. Also, don’t overwhelm your presentation with graphics, flashy animated transitions, and graphics. Remember that the lecture is about the information. Especially for selling presentations, you don’t want anybody in the room to depart feeling that they’ve wasted their time watching fancy cliparts. Too many extras on your PowerPoint slides will take away from from your presentation rather than add to it.
As a normal person cannot absorb more than ten new ideas in a sitting, each of your ten slides will give you the highest effect. It should take you about five minutes to show each slide. Much more than that and you’re rambling. Much less, and people will question the necessity to have that slide in the first place. A twenty-minute lecture leaves plenty of time for set up, and allows questions to be asked after.
PowerPoint is one of the most helpful presentation tools you can use for business meetings and sales presentations. A effective PowerPoint presentation helps to underline your message while giving the audience pieces of information that will stay with them. While a good presentation will help your business and add to your meeting, a low quality one can do just the opposite.

I went to college for both music and video production. I loved both, but there was a special place in my heart for video editing. I don’t know why, but most people can’t explain why they love the things they do the best and love the most. Whatever the case, one regret in my life is that I have never gotten a job doing editing. That doesn’t mean I can’t do it at home, however, and with the right stuff, anyone can edit their own personal videos, and it does not have to cost that much.
If you go for professional video editing, you can get the very best, but you are also going to pay by the hour, and the rate is not cheap.
