Graduation Present

Some students want luggage for a graduation present, others want a car, and some, more adventurous students, ask for a motorcycle for their graduation. While there are some female graduates who ask for a motorcycle, most of the begging teens are boys. At that age, boys tend to be more attracted to the thrill and freedom that a motorcycle represents. The question for a parent then becomes, “should I buy them a motorcycle or not?”

To begin with, if you’re buying your student a motorcycle, make sure it is a used one. Never give a new rider a brand new motorcycle because you know, some how, some way, it’s going to be dumped. This doesn’t mean that you have to buy a raggedy motorcycle. There are plenty of used motorcycles that both look and run great! Make sure, however, if you’re buying your child a motorcycle that they know how to ride one. Go with them to take the motorcycle course (it never hurts to brush up) and help them to understand how serious an accident can be. Then, get them outfitted right, make sure they’ve passed all their classed, and buy them a used motorcycle that can last them a very long time.
