A Woman In A Motorcycle Shop

It may sound like the start of a really good joke, but it’s actually a serious issue. Many women are treated differently than men are whenever they walk into a motorcycle dealers office. They are looked at as inferior and often the dealer treats them with a huge lack of respect. Most motorcycle dealers, be they a Suzuki, Honda, or Yamaha dealer, are under the misconception that women are only good as passengers.

Times have changed dealers, and you need to wake up and realize that just as many women are buying and riding bikes as men are. Women do, generally, need smaller bikes, as their legs often don’t have the strength to hold up the bike (unless, of course, they’re female bodybuilders), but some men prefer smaller bikes as well. It’s not as though motorcycle dealers need to stock neon pink bikes, as most women are more than happy to have a dark colored bike. The world of motorcycle riding is changing, with women preferring to ride beside their husbands rather than behind, and it’s time that the dealership industry came to realize it. Ladies, if you are not treated with respect by motorcycle dealers, make sure you don’t take it. Instead, start searching at other motorcycle dealerships or online to find the bike of your dream.
