Now I’m no yokel. I have high speed Internet, I check my e-mail several times a week, and in general I’m pretty well-connected. Just the same, however, I’ve never been able to get used to the idea of using the Internet as a primary means of communication. You see, I’m not even very comfortable over the phone. I certainly wasn’t comfortable with putting my picture up on the dating Internet services website, along with a whole host of personal profile information. It seemed like a bad idea to me, but I decided that I have nothing to lose. I made my dating Internet service post and waited for results.
So far, I have pretty mixed feelings about the dating Internet service. More people contacted me that I would have thought. It really is very easy to get casual dates, but the problem is that people who use the dating Internet service are socially awkward. Many of them are uneasy about meeting in the first place, and when they do everything is pretty tense. Maybe it’s just me. I was never all that ease with the dating Internet services myself. Nonetheless, I think I will stick around for awhile. The dating Internet service is just about all I’ve got going on anyway. Still, I don’t think I’m going to hold my breath and wait for results. I’m skeptical to say the least.

Often when we do too much, or worry about the future, or feel pressured, or question the meaning in our lives, or get afraid and angry, or break up with a loved one, we start to feel overwhelmed. Soon we get a cold or the flu or indigestion. So, we go to the doctor and she gives us a pill and since we feel better we continue to do too much, worry about the future, feel pressured question the meaning in our lives and harm our relationships… and we get sick again. This time it might be more serious: our blood pressure, cholesterol and sugar levels go up and we might even get depressed. So, we go back to the doctor, and she gives us a stronger medicine which makes us feel better. Consequently, we repeat the same self destructive behaviors and continue to get sick. However this time the disease is called a stroke, or diabetes, or cancer. This negative cycle can continue for many, many years. But one day the cycle stops and so do our hearts.

Duplicate bills are one of many types of overpayment errors that transpire within the accounts payable management function. The Institute of Internal Auditors have found that duplicate payments make up between 0.5% and 0.1% of annual supplier invoice payments which means one in a 1000 payments could be a duplicate. If your organisation makes £50 million in annual invoice payments you are probably paying out £50,000 or more in duplicate payments per year..
How Do They Happen?
A normal invoice entry includes an invoice number, date, amount, supplier number and many other fields. If any of these fields are enteredmistakenly or inconsistently, the system’s inherent check for duplicate payment will not be effective. Add to this fact there might not be a clear invoice numbering system it’s understandable to see how overpayments can slip through the net.
Internal Solution
This problem issue can be resolved by completing out the next process :
1.) Obtain a data of the full payment history
The key data items which are required are Supplier Reference, Invoice Number, Amount and Invoice Date. Where appropriate, Purchase Order number can also be useful.
-For convenience, and to produce a fewer number of suspected duplicates, it is often useful to divide out suppliers such as landlords where the payments are always constantly the same identical amount.
-The data should include credit items. This will reduce the aggravation of finding large duplicate payments which have already been collected with recovery audit software or where errors have been immediately reversed at the time of entry.
2.) Query the data using dedicated duplicate-finding techniques or system.
-This will need the use of a system that can identify classify the items most likely to be duplicates.
-Query results should of course be listed in descending order of monetary amount and chance of being a duplicate.
3.) Trace suspected items back to their supporting documents using recovery audit software.
4.) Contact overpaid vendors, and demend repayment or a credit note.
-This step may require some tact, but vendors are likely to be co-operative with their existing customers. Problems are possible when contacting former suppliers.

The first time I ever sent a gift unexpectedly was when I was involved in a long-distance relationship. My girlfriend was a little bit depressed, and when I sent her gift basket flowers in the mail, she was absolutely overjoyed. Even knowing it was a small token of my affection, it made herself happy to receive it. It completely surprised her when she got home. She got to come home to a lovely bouquet of flowers, complete with a gift card.
Seeing how happy that present made her made me really think about the potential Unique Gift Baskets have for lightening someone’s mood. About a week later, I was walking around town when I saw an old comic that one of my friends used to own. Although he had since lost it, when he was a kid it had been one of his favorite comics. I bought it, wrote a personal message, added a few action figures that he had always admired which I’d saved from my childhood, and sent it off to him. He absolutely loved it. If I had sent him, say, chocolates or a wine gift basket, it would have made him happy. When he got this particular Unique Gift Basket, however, he was absolutely overjoyed.
