The Scoop On The Satellite Descrambler

A Satellite descrambler is an electronic device used to descramble the premium channel signals received through your home satellite dish. The descrambler is often used as an alternative to paying the monthly subscription fee per channel - or group of channels - you are charged by your local provider. These descramblers use technology to break through the encryption applied to the premium and pay-per-view channels.  Satellite television is delivered through open air waves. The signal is beamed up to the satellites high above the Earth, and is then reflected back down to the dish where the signal is received and transmitted into your television. Some channels are free and some are premium. Free channels are delivered to your television without the need for a satellite descrambler. The satellite descrambler becomes necessary in order to view premium channels such as HBO, Cinemax, Showtime, Starz, and more. Even pay-per-view channels can be descrambled through the use of a satellite descrambler. These channels are encrypted by satellite providers and are not descrambled unless you pay for them to do so.
