If you don’t want your craft supply to rule your house, the first thing to do is know what you need. Go shopping with a set list and try to avoid impulsive buying. If you only need red yarn or green beads don’t walk into the store and buy eight or nine different colors because they’re bright or pretty or interesting. A common problem that many crafters have is that someone might ask for a specific item in a specific color. Then, after the project is done, there may be materials left over. Those materials may not be a common type or color that the crafter usually uses. Thus, the items add to the craft supply clutter. They just accumulate and before the crafter knows it they are up to their ears in excess items.
